There will be a large (22′ x 17′) layout based on scenes from the Skunk (CWR) Train as it was between 1915 and 1930, one of Fort Bragg with the holiday lighted truck parade, and even one in a pizza box! Fun for kids from 3 to 93! Free with Gardens admission. 9 am to 4 pm – Gardens Deck and Lath House. For more information, contact Store Manager Cynthia Lambie at 707-964-4352 ext 18.
December 25: Christmas at the Ford House
As one of the original pioneer homes, the Ford House Visitor Center in Mendocino is the perfect setting for an “Old Time Christmas.” Open on Christmas Day from 11am to 4pm, long-time volunteer docents will create a cozy “Norman Rockwell” atmosphere. The fire is lit, the tree is decorated and hot cinnamon rolls and cider are served. Docents will be available to answer questions and give tours of the exhibits, which include a scale model of the Town of Mendocino as it was in 1890. For more information, call 937-5397.
